Make a plan

Picture1Think back to the questions you answered (in  the ‘ask yourself’ section)

Have they helped you identify HOW and WHEN you are being affected by this person’s drinking?

Why not use this information to make a plan that can help you to cope when things are difficult.

Try to think of things to do that help you stay calm and relax.

Here are ideas that might help…

  • Listen to music… why not make up a play list of songs that make you feel good!
  • Visit a friend or family member.
  • Go for a walk, a run, a swim, play football or go to an exercise class.
  • Call someone i.e. a friend, a support group or a  helpline.
  • Watch your favourite film or TV programme.
  • Play a game or read a book.
